Massachusetts Dems pass Bill to Reduce Collective Bargaining Rights

Yes, you read that correctly!  So there really is a crisis that can only be solved by changing the way public employees negotiate their benefits and wages?

Apparently, the Democrats in Massachusetts feel that is the case!

Obama Will Increase Taxes on the Middle Class

There is no where else to go.  a 100% tax on the wealthiest Americans will not cover our indebtedness.  Obama will say he's taxing the rich but use alternatives that squeeze money from the Middle Class.

Obamacare would Reduce the Number of Jobs?

Yes. In fact, it would reduce the incentive to work.  My healthcare benefits are covered?  Why work?

What Do Your Teachers Get Paid?

This is provided by my friend who is a small businessman.  Well he isn't that small. :-)

With the protesting and organized assembly in our state, I thought I'd share some info recently received. The statistical focus in on teachers, but there is info on municipal workers, mainly in the Milwaukee area, also provided.

This is the Wisconsin DPI database of teachers wages by school district. Look for and evaluate your district.

To my understanding the wages etc. are for the contract length, which for teachers typically runs 9 -10 months, not 12. Annualized, it's quite more than shown in the spreadsheet.
I
provide no opinion in sharing.

I do have some leanings, however. I pay over $18,000 per year in health insurance premiums. This is family coverage. I have a $3000 deductible, plus co-pays. This is "open market" insurance. No riders or ratings, due to past major issues or on-going problems (thank God). That's $1500+/month, just in premiums. Add the $3000, which is not tax deductible and that's $1750/month I must earn, just to have health coverage. Those complaining about contributing to their health insurance get little sympathy from me.

Am I whining, saying woe-is-me? Nope. Simply offering a real-life example. Plus, I am sure I am not alone nor paying the most.

I found the following info on admin. and staff, shared w/o opinion, also quite revealing.
